The registry in various formats

Files available here were automatically produced from the official registry maintained by IANA. The current version of the registry is 2008-08-18.

Official format
Same format but as an UTF-8 file (the official format is in pure ASCII)
As set of ASCII or UTF-8 text files (one line per record, fields separated by tabulations, the subtag is the first field, the addition date the second):
- List of languages in ASCII and UTF-8
- List of scripts in ASCII and UTF-8
- List of regions (including countries) in ASCII and UTF-8
- List of variants (orthography, local dialects) in ASCII and UTF-8
- List of grand-fathered (tags which would otherwise be illegal but are maintained for compatibility, because they were previously used) in ASCII and UTF-8
- List of redundants (subtags redundant with other subtags) in ASCII and UTF-8
As XML :
- According to this schema (written in RelaxNG): registry in XML, Stéphane Bortzmeyer's version
- According to this schema (written in DTD): registry in XML, Frank Ellermann's version (his original tools)
As SQL. Since SQL is not really portable, there are several versions :
- For PostgreSQL (create the database with this schema) : registry in SQL with ASCII and with UTF-8,
- For SQLite (create the database with this schema) : registry in SQL with ASCII,
